SELF CONTAINED, 2024

Self Contained explores the quiet power of owning exactly where you are. Not as withdrawal, but as a requisite starting point. Each piece in this body of work holds a figure or an active moment in a state of complete presence — coded in colour and symbol, layered with a personal iconographic language as defined in First Words: A Primer. You must interpret them as you would a poem. 

The work seduces the viewer into engaging with esoteric material through familiar linguistic structures. This is sugar coating for the concrete thinkers: spirituality with a rulebook. This rulebook leads you inward only to reveal that self-containment is a portal, not a cage.
