MMWIA : FCG, 2026

This Meet Me Where I’m At project, carried out in collaboration with The Forest City Gallery, in London, Ontario, establishes an experimental framework for investigating social cohesion and community building, with artistic practice functioning as the primary catalyst. My evolving mixed-media drawings and speculative three-dimensional models serve as foundational research--the generative core around which measurable reactions, social connections, and community building take place. This project develops a refined experimental protocol, laying the groundwork for continued study and interpretation.

Social Cohesion refers to the measurable bonds, trust, and sense of belonging that hold communities together.

Hypothesis: Interpersonal communication through art affords a shared learning opportunity that builds social cohesion.

MMWIA : FCG | Running now until October 9

The project rolls out in two parts. MMWIA Phase 1 invites you into the community through a social media campaign and a series of micro gatherings at Ross Park. As members of MMWIA, you are co-researchers, contributing raw data in the form of social media interactions and planned activities. The dynamics of our evolving community are documented over time, and you're welcome to join us at any point. Watch Instagram for the events calendar and meet us at The Park.

I bring our collected research to the laboratory at the Forest City Gallery Project Space for Phase 2. Here, during a series of six studio drawing sessions, I interpret data through large, speculative drawings and look for research threads. Meaning and relationships emerge in layers as the drawing marks accumulate. You'll find me drawing during regular gallery hours on September 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, and October 1. I welcome your company as I work.
